Organizing To Cope With Allergies

Ever since I received the news of my wonderful allergicness (not a real word) to wheat, all I do is think about  what I'm going to eat or what I can not eat. Do you realize how annoying it is to not be hungry, but still thinking about your next meal? Well I'm here to tell ya, its not only annoying but frustrating too. Agh, I never knew how many items contain wheat!!!

With that said, for the next week or so I'm going to be making our refrigerator and pantry more conducive to preparing meals for me and the hubby. Starting with the refrigerator, since it is almost bare, I figured its the perfect time to restock and organize. Organization is going to be key, since I am the only one with the allergy and the rest of the family love them some wheat products. I also hope this allows my brain to think of something other than my lack of donut intake. :(

Here is what the frig looks like today... very barren. LOL.

Well, off to store I go!

Till next time...

  1. I don't have allergies, but a reader of mine mentioned that a using labels in the fridge (like I did in the link below) helped her when her son was diagnosed with some allergies. I should also mention that my fridge has remained VERY organize since I put up the labels. Good luck!

  2. Hello Iesha, I am a fairly new subscriber to your blog. I so enjoy your posts, your decor and just your style. =) You are so inspiring! When I read this post, I wanted to write and let you know that I was also diagnosed as gluten intolerant. Are you gluten intolerant or a true celiac? Can I just say I was utterly overwhelmed at first? I now eat "wheat free" and largely "grain free" as well, since I also have an autoimmune disease (which caused the gluten intolerance) and removing the wheat and grains from my diet has allowed my leaky gut to heal and my health to be restored. My life has been so changed by everything I have read and learned that I am now studying to be a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, where I will be working with folks just like you and me...and many others. I realize you don't know me, but if you ever need any recipes, suggestions, ideas, or just want to vent about missing a good almond croissant with your morning coffee, please feel free to write me. I have been helping many others with their gluten free journey, and I would love to help if you ever need it. =)

    Blessings, Michelle (masopa@yahoo.com)

P.S. This is not something I'm looking to get paid for, just so there is no misunderstanding. I have lots of good recipes to share from my heart!
